Finally I can no longer say I just graduated. That was a year ago, how time flies!! (Just like pigs!!) Now that most honored title goes to the wonderful Class of 2006! Congrats!!!
College life, be it at Duke or UNC, seems like a distant but pleasant memory now. In my mind I'll always be going to Carolina, to my beloved roommates, AO, RCCC, the Robertson crowd, Duke gardens, basketball games, UNC's campus and CLASS!!!!
But it's been a year, and how much has changed! Now I have a full time 9-6pm job, which means no naps in between classes, am working under 7 different bosses and for all those in need around the world. I get sent on "business" trips to represent my agency and have the adjective "responsible" attached to my staff member status.
I'm no longer living with my beloved roommates, having ice cream (thanks Will!) when things go rough or kim chee (thanks Hanna!) for snack. Instead, I live with my cool parents and rarely come home for dinner, not because I don't want to but because God blessed me with a bunch of new friends, who have been such a great source of encouragement and spiritual growth.
I settled into a new church and have really felt fed and spurred to grow. After the summer spent recuperating from the last few months of college life, I felt called to serve in a small group. Even though I serve as a "leader", I think I learn much more from my small groupies than they learn from me. They've stretched me to really brush up on my bible knowledge, care more, love more, take the initiative to reach out to others, be more sensitive, etc. Thank you GOD for these angels!
The upcoming year may be a rough one with a lot of uncertainties. My contract ends next June and I'm praying about plans to return to school. Law school. I'm not sure if this is where God is leading me to but he will surely guide the way to the perfect setting as he already has through this past year and through Duke.
To all the real fresh grads out there- don't worry, you're in God's good hands! His way is perfect! Just believe him.
Can't wait to see all ya'll soon! |
